To assist our electrical jointers to carry electrical works which range from the connection of new supplies, diversion and alterations to locating and repairing faults.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the cable jointer in carrying out their role to undertake electrical works in the connection of both LV and HV up to 33KV
  • Assist the cable jointer in delivery of the job to time and to guaranteed service levels
  • Carry out risk assessments and maintain safe working practices
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner  
  • Ensure completion of projects to agreed specifications and timescales
  • Work safely at all times and ensure safety of others working around them
  • Comply with the requirements of DIS NERS Health and Safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses
  • Complete weekly timesheets and all necessary paperwork for submission every Monday
  • Ensure that all NERS work is undertaken in line with NERS operational procedures and method statements
  • Gain an understanding of any variations in the design
  • Accept delivery of plant and materials and check inspection, calibration and conformity certification
  • Take responsibility for the efficient use of materials and Company property
  • Keep vehicles clean and tidy and report any damage to line manager immediately
  • Record accurately details of work undertaken

Essential Criteria:

  • Electrical knowledge
  • Physically fit
  • Full clean driving license
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written
  • Health and safety awareness
  • Good team player
  • Ability to follow and complete instructions

Desirable Criteria:

  • Current authorisations on DNO networks
  • CSCS
  • NRSWA
  • Level 2 ONC Electrical Engineering qualifications (or equivalent)
  • DNO background or experience of working with IDNOs
  • ICP experience
  • Towing license with B + E categories
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week with ½ hour lunch break, although you may be required to work any necessary additional hours for the proper performance of your duties and in accordance with the needs of the business
