Long Term Business Growth Behind DragonIS’ New Managing Director Hire
Dragon Infrastructure Solutions has hired Andrew Garcia as its new Managing Director to create the structure, processes and procedures necessary to support the business’ exciting growth plans.
DragonIS, one of the leading Independent Connections Providers (ICPs) in the UK, has experienced extensive growth in the last 2 years, increasing its workforce by 63%. It is one of only three companies in the UK that is Lloyd’s accredited to handle both 132kV of electricity and 2bar pressure gas and has just acquired a new unit on the Brackmills Industrial Estate, Northampton, increasing its capacity by over 60%. This growth has prompted DragonIS to add to its senior management team to further capitalise on opportunities in the market, building on its excellent service and customer base.
Andrew Garcia brings significant commercial and operational experience with him to the role at DragonIS. He previously had senior management roles at Omega Red, SSI Services and Navigant Consulting and has worked extensively across a broad range of highly regulated environments for public and private sector clients, with a particular focus on infrastructure and environmental markets. His experience within the construction, facilities management, utilities and energy sectors make him a perfect addition to the DragonIS team.
Commenting on his new role, Andrew Garcia said: “DragonIS is an inventive and exciting business, which I am really looking forward to helping reach its full potential. DragonIS has already proved itself a pioneering force and industry voice within the construction market, but there is so much more to come and I am honoured to be a part of this. The opportunities for increasing market share and reinforcing our position as one of the top ICPs in the UK make it a great time to join the team.”
Debbie Edgar, CEO at DragonIS also commented: “We are delighted to have Andrew join our team. His breadth of experience running businesses of our size and larger will be invaluable to help us capitalise on the huge growth potential we have and the opportunities we have identified in the market. It also allows Simon and me to continue supporting the core business, whilst focusing heavily on longer term investment and growth opportunities. It is an exciting time at DragonIS and the perfect moment for Andrew to come onboard.”
This senior appointment comes on the back of numerous award nominations for DragonIS, including Contractor of the Year at this year’s prestigious Construction News Awards. Plus, DragonIS is changing the way the industry views itself, re-educating a market where historically connections were a monopoly and not open to independent competition. It is encouraging customers to view connections as less of a commodity service and more of an intrinsic part of the utility services market.
